THIS WEEK's devotional
February 3-7, 2025

Day 1: The Word Before Time
John 1:1-2 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.
Reflection:  Before anything existed, Jesus was already there. He is outside time, and that means He sees your life from beginning to end.
Quote: "Jesus was God and man in one person, that God and man might be happy together again." — George Whitefield
Application: Rest in the truth that God is not bound by time—He holds your future.
Prayer: Lord, help me trust Your eternal plan.

Day 2: The Light in the Darkness
John 1:4-5 In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
Reflection: Darkness fights against light, but it never wins. No matter how broken the world looks, Jesus will always shine brighter.
Quote: "The darker the night, the brighter the stars. The deeper the grief, the closer is God!" — Fyodor Dostoevsky
Application: When faced with trials, choose to focus on Christ’s light rather than the surrounding darkness.
Prayer: Jesus, shine Your light into my life today.
Day 3: Rejected but Victorious
John 1:10-11 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him.
Reflection: Even when rejected, Jesus never stopped loving. He understands rejection—and He will never reject you.
Quote: "He came to His own, and His own received Him not. If you were never rejected, you could never be like Jesus." — Leonard Ravenhill
Application: Let rejection push you closer to Jesus, who understands and heals.
Prayer: Lord, help me stand firm even when I feel alone.
Day 4: Born of God
John 1:12-13 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.
Reflection: Being a Christian isn’t about effort or family background—it’s about being made new by God.
Quote: "Being a Christian is less about cautiously avoiding sin than about courageously doing God’s will." — Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Application: Live boldly as a child of God, knowing you belong to Him.
Prayer: Father, thank You for making me Your child.
Day 5: Grace Upon Grace
John 1:16-18 For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace. For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him.
Reflection: You don’t have to earn grace. God keeps pouring it out—over and over again.
Quote: "Grace is but glory begun, and glory is but grace perfected." — Jonathan Edwards
Application: Let today be filled with gratitude for the grace that never runs out.
Prayer: Jesus, help me live in Your grace today.
